The Oxfordshire RTC Pre-Academy supports players aged U6–U8 who aspire to progress. Introduced this year, the programme provides a structured and age-appropriate entry point into the Oxfordshire RTC pathway, with a clear focus on long-term development and enjoyment of the game.

Programme Overview

The Pre-Academy curriculum is aligned with Coerver, with sessions centred around ball mastery, coordination, creativity and decision-making. All sessions are delivered by highly qualified coaches who specialise in early player development and creating positive learning environments.

Training & Games

Sessions take place during the week across Bicester and Oxford, with training blocks lasting 60 or 90 minutes depending on age group. Players also take part in games during weekday evenings, weekends and school holidays, supporting confidence, game understanding and enjoyment.

A Clear Pathway

The Pre-Academy sits within the wider Oxfordshire RTC development model and prepares players for future progression into Development Squads and, where appropriate, JPL Squads. Progression is guided by individual development, readiness and attitude.
